Emerson Knives has made a huge change to their offerings – they are getting rid of Satin Gray Finish knives altogether…

Well, not really.  What’s actually happening is that it’s being phased out and replaced with STONEWASH!

I’ve been asking Emerson for many years now to offer a stonewashed option, and let me tell ya, it looks badass.  Folks, if you need a knife for hard use, Stonewash finished knives are the choice to make.  Unlike traditional coating options, it resists scratches and damage, and wears a lot better over the life of your knife.  Sure, it’s bare metal – but seriously, it works and works well, and quite frankly just looks better to boot.

New Product: Emerson Horseman Series

As some of you know, I live on a ranch with horses.  You may also know that I grew up on a farm.  Anyway, we all know how important a knife is when you’re working around a farm and livestock.  In regard to horses, a strong sharp knife is not an option, it is essential.  Every cowboy knows that his knife is his lifejacket.  When something goes wrong with livestock, it goes wrong fast.  A knife is generally the only thing that will get you out of a wreck with your life.

So, we did our research and found that the knife design most suited to the purpose was a scaled down version of the CQC-8, with serrations. This Mini-CQC-8 still has all of the aggressiveness of the Full Size 8 but is more pocket friendly for someone on Horseback.  I think you’ll like it.

Well, I finally got around to designing a folding version. The CQC-12 is brutishly strong, has a bank vault .125 inch thick lock, and feels like a fixed blade in your hand. I don’t think you can get much tougher or stronger than this one. This is not a general utility knife. This is an Abrams Tank with sharp edges.
