The ultra compact T1A Titan boasts impressive light output from a single 123A lithium battery, but it also offers a near infinite range of lower-output settings which allow you to conserve battery power or scale back output when needed. This is all made possible by Titan’s unique variable light output capability controlled by the simple twist of its bezel. Its virtually indestructible LED emitter and precision micro-textured reflector produce 70 lumens of smooth tactical-level light; that’s more than three times the output of a much larger two-D-cell flashlight.

Emerson changes lineup – Satin Grey Finish gone, replaced with…

Emerson Knives has made a huge change to their offerings – they are getting rid of Satin Gray Finish knives altogether…

Well, not really.  What’s actually happening is that it’s being phased out and replaced with STONEWASH!

I’ve been asking Emerson for many years now to offer a stonewashed option, and let me tell ya, it looks badass.  Folks, if you need a knife for hard use, Stonewash finished knives are the choice to make.  Unlike traditional coating options, it resists scratches and damage, and wears a lot better over the life of your knife.  Sure, it’s bare metal – but seriously, it works and works well, and quite frankly just looks better to boot.

CRKT products UPDATED!

Now that power has been restored after Kentucky’s worst snow storm ever, I’m back on track for adding new stuff to the site!

CRKT has unleashed the fury this year with a slew of new products and getting rid of a lot of older ones.  

New items will be updated shortly with pictures, specifications and descriptions as I finish them.  In the meantime, you can pre-order them now by looking on the CRKT Complete Listing pages.

On the discontinued front:

  • All the non-assisted opening versions of assisted opening knives are gone.  
  • AG Russells ringers are no longer
  • Van Hoy On Fire models have been eased out
  • Kit Carson’s venerable M16 series in aluminum is gone; however there are still more than enough other models to make up for it.
  • Most of the SOTFB knives are history
  • Koji Hara Ichi knives are hitting the road

Benchmade 2009 Products, Pricing, & Discontinueds

Benchmade has released their 2009 product catalogs, both Consumer and Law Enforcement; with this we see a number of new products and various items that will no longer be produced.

New products include:

  • Orange Handled 551 Griptilians
  • The 580 Barrage and 585 Mini-Barrage designs from Warren Osborne
  • 18 new pen colors, styles & designs, including Slim Tactical & Gentleman’s series
  • The return of the Nimravus Cub
  • The Marc Lee “Glory” Knife
  • Product variants of the Mel Pardue Presidio called the “Presidio Ultra”, available in manual or automatic opening
  • New Red Class models: the 10350 “Aphid” and 10700 “Nagara”
  • Single Edged Infidels in 4 variants
  • The 10105 ERT series has been replaced by the Houdini series.

Since there are 50+ individual products that were eliminated from the 2009 lineup, it’s easier just to create a page than to list them all seperately here.  Some initial thoughts:

  • Foliage Green & Desert Sand modeled autos are eliminated – they are subject to what’s still on hand at Benchmade
  • D2 Nimravus models are gone
  • 100SH2O models are eliminated
  • Skirmishes, Apparitions, Fixed Presidio, and several Griptilian options are gone including the Skyline camo variants
  • Plain edge autos are gone from the Auto Stryker, as are the 9130 models. 🙁

The Microtech SOCOM series has always been the “workhorse” of the Microtech line – big, sturdy, dependable, friendly to use. The new SOCOM Elite builds upon these qualities even further – it’s like a SOCOM on steriods!

The 4″ clip point blade has been changed to a sleeker profile – it’s lines flow smoothly while still retaining all of it’s thick belly for cutting ease. While tapering to a sharp, flat ground edge, the blade retains a thick cross section making it hardy enough for heavy duty cutting tasks.

These are new old stock, found during our move to the new shop. Once they are gone, they are gone forever (or forever in Microtech terms).

Moving Day Find: Microtech SOCOM Elites, Terzoula ATCFs, Colored UTX70s!

I’ve found a quantity of SOCOM Elite automatics that turned up during moving!  Looks like we have them available in a couple configurations:

  • Clip Point – D-2 Blade, Black Finish, Plain Edge
  • Clip Point – D-2 Blade, Black Finish, Partially Serrated
  • Clip Point – S-90V Blade, Tactical model, Plain Edge
  • Clip Point – S-90V Blade, Tactical model, Partially Serrated Edge

It also looks like we have a couple various tanto models as well…

In other news, some Terzoula ATCF’s were also found, as well as colored UTX70 models in Blue, Red or Carbon Fiber.  I’m adding pictures and specifications as soon as possible.

We found a limited quantity of the Al Mar WORTAC Automatic when unpacking from our move – these weren’t on the site and hidden deep on a back shelf; and haven’t been available for about 4-5 years at this point.

Designed by Kelly Worden, the WORTAC auto is a clip point fighter that is all muscle and sleek lines.

The 4″ 154CM blade has a steep clip point with tons of belly, perfect for any slicing task. The 6061 T6 Aircraft Aluminum handle is no slouch either – not only does it have the stylish WORTAC logo milled in, but features a pleasing, extremely comfortable shape combined with a large index finger groove for retention and security

We’ve got 10 in stock. Each comes with a leather presentation  case. Get them while you can!

The SEAL Revolver comes standard with a new look in blade shape that is not only functional, but distinctive. A survival saw serves as a backup in the handle. The blade features a forward thumb rest for increased dexterity and downward pressure. A glass-reinforced Zytel handle hides the stainless steel liners which ensure strength and quality. And as always, SOG edges are razor sharp.
