THINK YOU CAN CONTROL A CYCLONE? Sure You Can.
Kershaw's Cyclone series features an innovative "On/Off" option that lets you control when to use the SpeedSafe® assisted opening system and when to use fully manual operation. Simply flip the roll-switch on the knife's spine to choose manual opening or to engage the Cyclone's SpeedSafe® system. In the "on" position, the knife functions like all our SpeedSafe® knives. In the "off" position, the torsion bar is disengaged and the knife will only open manually.
With SpeedSafe "on," the Cyclones offer another choice - whether to use the ambidextrous index-finger opening system or the built-in thumb-stud. To use the index-finger system, just pull on the blade protrusion to engage SpeedSafe®. To use your thumb, just push on the handy thumb-stud. And, of course, with our great new On/Off option, you can turn SpeedSafe® off altogether and use the thumb-stud alone for manual one-handed opening.
The Cyclone also offers a high performance blade shape designed for precision and maximum performance and manufactured of Sandvik 13C26 blade steel. 13C26 is the ideal steel for durability and excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention. This versatile blade is set off by handsome, anodized-aluminum handles in basic black.
The aluminum handles provide lightweight strength and make the Cyclone ideal for pocket carrying. For safety, a 410 stainless-steel locking liner secures the blade until the user releases it.
Kershaw Cyclones come in a variety of sizes and configurations. For a smaller Cyclone (just 4-1/4 inches, closed) choose the Model 1635 or 1635ST with partially serrated blade. The full-sized Cyclone has a 3-3/4 inch blade and closes to 5 inches. For a non-reflective knife, choose the Black Cyclone (Model 1630BLKST) with Tungsten DLC coating and a partially serrated blade.
The Tungsten DLC increases the surface hardness of the stainless steel to 90 on the Rockewell C scale. In addition, it offers a tough corrosion-resistant covering that is virtually scratch proof. For a knife with a serious Tanto blade for cutting power, try the Tanto Cyclone. It also features the Tungsten DLC coating for enhanced durability.
All Cyclones feature Ken Onion styling and the new SpeedSafe On/Off® option. All are made in the USA, perfectly suited for a variety of tasks, and designed with a look that will blow you away.
